My Brother Rocks..Vote for him

Hello internet friends.  I am writing a different kind of post today.  I get to brag a little, exude sickening levels of pride and talk about someone I love.

He is trying to win a contest  Check out shane's audition and VOTE NOW.  It is important for him and would mean alot to him.  He has overcome many obstacles in his life and is a caring and talented man.  He has used his love of music to build a career and give back.  He currently runs and teaches in the School of Rock in Pheonix AZ  check out their facebook page and like them.  He also worked at the School of Rock in St. Paul Mn.

He has had many bands since the age of 16 and has annoyed me endlessly with his incessant guitar playing while i tried to brood and sing along with the New Kids on the block.  (We are 4 years apart).  When we were younger I thought his playing was just noise and honestly I was a smidge jealous of the attention he got.  Never did I ever think he was being bullied for his long hair (which I was jealous of because it was nicer than mine).  He and my oldest brother really did influence my tastes in music.  Once I started watching MTV to wait for a New Kid video and heard my brother playing Guns N' Roses, Poison, Metallica and others, I started moving away from my boy band obsession and expanding my musical repertoire.  Music is a very important thing in our lives.  It helps mellow us out, keeps us balanced and gets us thru the good and bad times.  My 16 year old son has Autism and my brother got him a real drum set.  Nick loves it and when he feels anxiety he goes into his room and plays the drums and makes up songs.  It has been very theraputic.  My other sons Dylan (14) and Jordan (6) love playing the guitar and singing. They all idolize their uncle Shane.  Good luck Shane.  We love you and are so proud of you.

I included the official copy of his Bio for the Scottsdale school of rock.
MUSIC DIRECTOR
Shane has been playing in rock bands for the last 22 years.  One of his first bands ‘Helva’ was the first unsigned band to play Edgefest in Somerset Wi and they were voted one of the top 10 unsigned bands in the country by Rollingstone.com.  He moved out to Los Angeles where he joined the Virgin/Immortal band ‘US Crush’ where he played the Warped Tour and toured with artists such as ‘Social Distortion’, ‘DI’, ‘Story of the Year’ and ‘Bullet’s and Octane’.
While he was in LA he was on the VH1 show ‘You Rock With’ where he beat out hundreds of guitarists to play on stage with 80’s icons ‘Poison’ in Alabama in front of 10,000 people!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yziVRPQ8CY&feature=relmfu Shane moved back to Minnesota and attended McNally Smith college of Music and maintained a 3.60 GPA and made the dean’s list.  During that time he toured opening for Chicago rockers ‘Chevelle’.
